I.A.H.M.
accepts the Bible, canonized as the 66 books making up the
Old and New Testaments as the Word of God and as His
revealed will, the all-sufficient rule of faith, doctrine
and practice. For the purpose of maintaining unity, we
adopt the following statements of truth:
-
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, authoritative
Word of God. Holy men of God wrote under the guidance,
influence, and inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
-
We believe that there is one God eternally existent in
three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
-
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His
virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in
His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood,
in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the
right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in
power and glory.
-
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful
man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely
essential.
-
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit,
by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a
godly life and is empowered to do the "greater works"
that Jesus said we would.
-
We believe that the baptism of the Holy Spirit according
to Acts 2:4 is given to all believers who in faith ask
for it.
-
We believe in the final judgement at the end of the age.
The saved - to the resurrection to life, the rewards of
the righteous, and living eternally in the presence of
God. The lost - to the resurrection of the wicked and
damnation, of being eternally separated from God and
punished.
-
We believe in the spiritual unity of all believers in
our Lord Jesus Christ, and will do all to work for a
greater expression of that unity.
